FE&S is unusual in how many stakeholders touch a single piece of equipment before it ever reaches a kitchen: manufacturers, manufacturers' reps, dealers, consultants, service agents, and end users. Each of these groups has its own trade associations, its own data, and its own incentives. What's largely missing is a neutral space where they can think together and solve shared problems.
The technologies reshaping commercial kitchens (AI-driven design and diagnostics, connected equipment, automation, sustainability-driven redesign) are arriving faster than the industry's traditional channels can absorb and evaluate them. Waiting for slow, incremental adoption cycles risks leaving FE&S companies reacting to disruption from outside the industry — from foodtech startups, from big-box competitors, from operators who route around traditional dealer relationships entirely — rather than shaping it from within.
